Why I built this
I built this website for a business that previously had no online presence. My goal was to introduce a structured, clear guide to their services and establish their digital brand identity. Additionally, I integrated a simple inquiry form to streamline customer communication and establish a foundation for future growth.
How it came together
Set up the WordPress environment, managed domain configuration, and defined the core site structure. Developed responsive page layouts using Elementor and implemented consistent branding throughout the website. Integrated WPForms with an external SMTP service to ensure reliable inquiry delivery and prevent lead loss. Configured CAPTCHA protection for improved security, and implemented metadata and Open Graph tags to enhance content sharing.
Troubleshooting
Elementor's resource-intensive rendering combined with a low-spec hosting environment resulted in poor mobile performance and slow page loads.
While the site was live, a large-scale DDoS attack on the hosting provider resulted in intermittent outages and high latency.
I reduced mobile Largest Contentful Paint(LCP) from 6–9 seconds to approximately 3.5 seconds by eliminating external font requests and optimizing front-end performance
Recognized the risk of depending on a single hosting provider. I set up a regular local backups and identified off-site backups as a necessary next step to strengthen disaster recovery.
Successfully deployed the website while gaining practical experience in real-world deployment, infrastructure reliability, and disaster recovery planning.
